I met Modern Beauties years ago at a French Bal in Paris and was blown away by how Allison and her partner made me look. We had Allison do hair and Maeva do makeup for myself, all my girls, and both moms. They were both incredible. Allison started as my hairstylist, did an awesome trial, but when we had a need for makeup, she added her colleague Maeva. And I'm so glad she did. My makeup looked absolutely flawless. We didn't do a trial, I was just able to send pictures of styles I liked, and what she created was wonderful.
Allison came in with such a happy and patient spirit!
This is was very appreciated on such a stressful morning. We all had different wants and needs and she adapted easily to create exactly what we had in mind.
Everyone was happy and felt good about themselves!
At first, I was very concerned about having makeup that looked great on camera but not in real life. I've seen this happen at many weddings and that's the reason why I originally planned to do it myself. When I explained this to Allison at our hair trial, she ensured me that this was not her philosophy about beauty. Less is more! she said. And I'm very happy that I trusted her and booked Modern Beauties for makeup as well.

I felt like she knew me forever and read through my mind.
I could not be happier with my decision to hire Modern Beauties to do hair and makeup for my wedding events. I'm very specific about how I like my hair and makeup to be, so I was nervous about finding someone who would understand my wishes without making me feel like I'm a pain in the neck. But when I went to Allison for my hair and makeup trial she made me feel like my requests were no big deal. For example, unlike most people, I hate volume on my head and I wanted no volume at all, but I still wanted texture, nothing sleek or classic. I had a long list of things I didn't want without actually knowing what I wanted!
Allison patiently listened to me. She suggested a few things and then she started working... I was completely overwhelmed when she showed me the hairstyle she came up with. I felt like she knew me forever and read through my mind.
She also provided me with the most stunning hair piece. She brought many accessories for me to choose from and it was one less thing for me to worry about. I would probably have spent hours looking for what I wanted without even being sure it would fit my hairstyle. I thought it was a huge help!!
On the wedding day, Allison traveled to my hotel in Paris and was amongst the very few vendors being on time. It was a "Car free sunday" in Paris and she was organized accordingly.
I have never felt more beautiful in my life as I did on my wedding weekend, and I have Allison to thank for that! I would definitely recommend her for anyone and any kind of event!

Fantastic Allison made our day so wonderful! She came to our hotel and helped me get ready with hair and make up. She even took the time so she could help my little girl with her hair. She is truly an artist! Hair and make up was great the whole day! It is not easy organizing a whole wedding in another country but Allison took the time to answer emails, helping me out with ideas and sending me different pictures so I could make up my mind.

Allison helped me to do my makeup and hairstyle on my big day. I'm so impressed by her professional. I'm a Chinese living in France, so before contact with her, I'm afraid that it would be hard for a western stylist to do makeup for asian because of different aesthetic and facial structure between western and eastern. But Allison dispel my misgivings. She arrived at my place in time, and just glance at the picture of my ideal style, she began to work. It seems like she has the magic power to do all this stuff, just within 1.5 hours, everything in done（including groom style), really efficient. The makeup and hairstyle is amazing, even better than the picture which I've shown her. I love it !!!! As well all my family and friends!!!!
