Your wedding day is one of the most important moments of your life, and you deserve to feel stunning and confident in your own skin. At Allison+Artists, we’ve guided countless brides in creating their dream bridal glow with tailored skincare, tips for non-invasive beauty treatments and day of skincare and makeup.
Here’s a timeline packed with expert tips to help you achieve picture-perfect skin for your big day.
6-12 Months Before: The Foundation
Start early to allow treatments and skincare to deliver their full benefits.
Facials & Treatments: Regular facials target concerns like acne, hyperpigmentation, or dullness, while treatments like chemical peels and microdermabrasion boost collagen and refine skin texture. Non-invasive laser options for resurfacing and tightening can also dramatically improve tone and firmness, if needed.
Here are two favorite non invasive treatments that I usually recommend:
Fraxel Dual Laser - 1/2 Mini Fraxel: Pain is very tolerable, no downtime! Expect redness on the day of treatment at most. Beautifully clears the skin. This one is great to try well ahead of the wedding day, and repeat close to your date for an intense glow if you liked the results.
Chemical Peel - Glytone Triple Bright Peel: 20% Trichloroacetic Acid, 10% Lactic Acid, 5% Kojic Acid. Not painful. Leaves you with an intense glow after a few days.
Skincare Routine: Commit to a routine with exfoliation, hydration, and sun protection. Quality products with scientifically backed ingredients, like vitamin C and hyaluronic acid, make all the difference. Consistency is key to smooth, glowing skin by your wedding day.
3-4 Months Before: Enhancements & Refinements
With your skincare routine established, now’s the time to consider extra touches:
Botox: Start Botox 3-4 months ahead if it’s your first time. It takes about two weeks to see full results, and this allows time for adjustments. Target fine lines on your forehead, crow’s feet, or frown lines for a polished, natural look.
Lip Fillers: Want a fuller pout? Lip fillers take a few days for swelling to subside and about a month to settle completely. This ensures your lips are naturally plump and kissable for the big day—and the photos!
Facials: Add hydrating, brightening, or deep-cleansing facials to your schedule to keep your skin healthy and glowing.
1 Month Before: The Final Boost
This is the time to focus on gentle treatments and perfect any final details:
Facials: Switch to hydrating and calming facials like oxygen facials, which deliver instant glow without downtime. Avoid anything aggressive, like chemical peels or microdermabrasion.
Skincare Routine: Stick to your tried-and-true products and avoid experimenting with new ones to minimize the risk of irritation.
Botox Touch-Ups: If you’ve had Botox earlier, this is your window for any adjustments.
1 Week Before: Hydration & Calm
Your focus now is keeping your skin nourished and calm:
Hydration: Drink plenty of water to plump your skin from within, and double down on hydrating moisturizers to lock in that glow.
Avoid Retinols & Acids: These can cause redness or peeling, so pause their use at least a week before the wedding.
Gentle Skincare: Keep your routine simple—cleanse, moisturize, and protect with SPF.
During your travels + the night before the wedding: Apply extra moisturizing
